Who Should Attend
Peer Support Specialists who are certified under the S.C. Peer Support Specialist Certification Commission and need ethics continuing education to maintain their certification
REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
Objectives
- Understand the roles and functions of peer support specialists.
- Define ethics.
- Explore the intersection of ethical core values and recovery core values.
- Define and explore boundaries.
- Define cultural humility and the role of cultural humility in ethical decision making.
- Have a basic understanding of the legal issues impacting the delivery of peer support services.
- Understand the value and need for self-care and personal recovery management planning.
Facilitator
Julie Cole, LMSW, LAC, CPSS, a person in long-term recovery and co-owner of Cole Wellness, a therapeutic wellness center that offers counseling, health coaching, and personal training to help clients improve their health and wellness
