Who Should Attend
People with personal or family lived experience with a substance use disorder who want to learn how to support families with loved ones harmfully using drugs and/or alcohol
REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
Description
Family Recovery Coaches walk with families that are coping with loved ones who are struggling with substance misuse or a substance use disorder. Coaches provide families with support, referrals, and guidance. This training will equip individuals to serve as Family Recovery Coaches and will cover such topics as:
- Role of Families in Recovery
- Family System Theory
- Seeing People as Resources
- Role of the Recovery Coach
- Science of Addiction
- Stages of Change
- Triangulation
- Unintentional Support
- Boundaries
- Motivational Interviewing
- Reflective Listening
- Attachment
- Moving Family to Recovery Model
