Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program Supervisor, provides medical care/phlebotomy services to those clients receiving MAT.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assists Nurse Practitioner in administering medication and performing tests with MAT clients.
• Obtains prior authorization for medications from commercial insurance and/or Medicaid managed care organizations.
• Provides client and family education on the use of naloxone and orders naloxone from the S.C. Department of Public Health (when indicated).
• Charts all services in client medical records.
• Maintains and updates all necessary paperwork.
• Obtains blood samples from patients for lab work, processes spin-down, and packages specimen.
Required Qualifications:
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to fulfill the duties of the position.
• Position involves sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount to force frequently or constantly to utilize office equipment.
