Job Description: Aids community partners and Beaufort County as a whole in establishing, revising, and maintaining strategies that lead to healthy habits and lifestyles that abate opiate misuse.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provides evidence-based substance use prevention education in schools, public outreach, and social media campaigns.
• Monitors ODMAP, collaborates with the coroner’s office, uses real-time overdose fatality data, and offers naloxone training in overdose "hot spots" across Beaufort County.
• Maps Beaufort County's Opioid Abatement Strategies and shares with leadership and community partners.
• Maintains communication to keep partners informed about strategy implementation, enabling more efficient planning and execution of opioid prevention efforts.
• Tracks all prevention efforts.
• Completes SCORF data-tracking forms.
• Assists with additional assigned deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in human services or its equivalent in education, training, and experience.
• Certification by the South Carolina Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates (SCAPPA) or ability to obtain certification within three years of hire. (Preferred certifications: Certified Prevention Specialist [CPS] or Certified Senior Prevention Specialist [CSPS])
• At least two years of work/volunteer experience in community development/relations.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Salary: $60,000
