Job Responsibilities:
• Coaches and supports individuals for and through substance use treatment services.
• Provides face-to-face service to assist persons in or recovering from substance use disorders.
• Provides transportation for clients and family for services.
• Provides self-help activities to persons seeking and in need of recovery.
• Provides crisis support of persons in recovery or in need of substance use treatment.
• Documents all services provided with or for clients.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to self-identify as a current or former recipient of substance use services
• Eligible to obtain certification as a Peer Support Specialist (i.e., has been in recovery for at least two years)
• Valid SC driver's license
• One year of active participation in a local or national mutual aid group or recovery movement
• Experience and training in working with special populations providing case management services
Preferred Qualifications: • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist
Salary: $28,000
