Job Description: Position provides education, enhances skills, and provides ongoing support for prevention activities.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of prevention activities that align with department goals.
• Conducts community education programs such as the Tobacco Education Program and merchant education for retailers that sell tobacco and alcohol.
• Develops and facilitates youth school clubs designed to encourage wellness and prevent alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use,
• Attends community and school events (e.g., health fairs, "Back to School Bash," Red Ribbon Week) to share ATOD prevention information.
• Assists in maintaining and selecting materials/brochures available for distribution at community events and the agency's Prevention Resource Center.
• Develops/maintains community partnerships to promote ATOD prevention efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or closely related field and at least three years of experience in the field
• Applicable prevention professional certifications (or able to obtain certification within two years of hire)
