Types of Treatment
Overcoming a substance use disorder – or other types of addictions – is one of the most difficult things a person can go through in life. This process is not one to go through alone. Overcoming addiction takes a strong commitment from the individual, as well as support, encouragement, and help from loved ones. The assistance of treatment professionals can also be an asset.
DAODAS ensures the availability of a menu of treatment options through a system of state-licensed and nationally accredited service providers. Specific services range from DUI intervention, outpatient treatment, and gambling addiction treatment (which are available in every county), to specialized treatment services, such as intensive outpatient, inpatient, and withdrawal management (detoxification). These specialized services are available on a county, regional, and/or statewide basis.
The DAODAS system also focuses on certain state and federally identified priority populations, including:
- Adolescents
- Pregnant and parenting women
- Individuals with or at risk of HIV infection
- Individuals affected by trauma.
Get an Assessment
Each individual who seeks help from a county alcohol and drug authority first receives an assessment. The assessment helps determine the most appropriate level of care, as well as to create an individualized treatment plan. Depending on the individual’s financial circumstances, this assessment can be provided free of charge.
